Lots of creative endeavours took place at Warracknabeal Court House late 2019, as part of the reactivation project in partnership with Monash University (MADA) and the Yarriambiack Shire.
The goal of the reactivation projec t is to initiate a cultural precinct for Warracknabeal and the surrounding region. It aims to increase community participation and engagement in civic activity, create new economic opportunities and stimulate cultural diversity through the various ventures sited at the court house.
The focus for Stage 1 works will be accessibility and compliance with occupancy requirements. It will incorporate additions to the existing building in the form of an access ramp and accessible toilet, as well as reconfiguing the interior spaces in order to create:
> a working studio area
> flexible community space
> short-term accommodation for artists and visitors
> a study and kitchenette
